Bridges
of Iowa, patterned after the successful Bridges of Ameria program,
offers a variety of alternative sanctions for men and women with substance
abuse problems. Each treatment program is designed to seek out and
eliminate the root causes of the addictive behavior and provide healing
for the whole person: body, mind and spirit. The Bridges uses a continuum
of care that includes residential and aftercare treatments as part
of its overall services to substance abusers at all levels.
The
Bridges Program
Bridges
of Iowa represents a stabilizing force that, through a step-by-step
process, provides an individualized program of training, peer support
and counseling services. The clients may come to Bridges because of
a prison diversion judicial sentence. For example, the judge determines
that preventive treatment may circumvent the downward spiral toward
crime and prison. Or clients may be assigned to the Bridge at the
crucial point when they are re-entering society.
